Programme Overview

This apprenticeship programme for someone who would like to develop career in finance sector undertake an administration role in a finance environment, where they will build an essential foundation of financial knowledge and practical skills.

Entry Requirement

Most candidates will have Level 2 Maths and English, ideally as part of 5 GCSE A-C grades. Other relevant or prior experience may also be considered as an alternative. Employers who recruit candidates without English or Maths at Grade C or above must ensure that the candidate achieves this standard prior to the completion of the Apprenticeship.


The apprenticeship will typically take 12 – 18 months to complete

What will they learn?

Apprentices will learn following knowledge, skills and behaviour as well as receive a professional qualification such as CeMAP module 1 – The London Institute of Banking and Finance (LIBF) or RO1 – The Chartered Insurance Institute (CII)

  • The financial services market
  • the financial services regulatory framework
  • Ethics and key principles of the financial advice process
  • The purpose and technical content of financial services products and services systems and processes required to carry out the role of financial services administrator


Apprentices will be assessed through an on-programme and an End-Point Assessment. 

Portfolio: Apprentices will produce and present range of evidences as a showcase to demonstrate their knowledge, skills and behaviour set in apprenticeship standard. 

End Point Assessment

Apprentices will produce and present a work based project that contains real activity done in the role. This will be reviewed and scored by the panel members ahead of the interview.

A portfolio of recent evidence that demonstrates competence in learning outcomes not covered by the project. This will be reviewed and scored by the panel members ahead of the interview.

A panel interview / Viva that allows the panel members to explore particular areas of the standard that have been highlighted during assessment of the project & portfolio – this may be areas of strength, inconsistencies, or where the apprentice does not appear to meet the standard.
